One deep, one medium, bottom board, frames and migratory cover, robbing resistant entrance reducer.[/caption]
These fully assembled beehives are manufactured in Brazil, made from highly durable Eucalyptus wood and boiled in Soy Bean oil for a water proof finish. They consist of a bottom board, robbing resistant entrance reducer, one deep and one medium brood box, assembled frames and a metal covered migratory lid. Plastic foundation is not included but can be purchased here from BEEXTM: https://amzn.to/4jwYWAm
Why Eucalyptus Beehives?
Eucalyptus is used for many outdoor woodworking projects, included outdoor furniture. It has a durability index rating of 1,910, where white pine comes in at 380 (Janka Index Rating). Properly maintained Eucalyptus wood can last up to 25 years outdoors, not so with pine. Best of all, these kits are assembled and ready to go. Just snap in your plastic foundation (Available Here) and pout it in the field.
Price and Comparison
These kits are $110.00 assembled and oil finished. After adding plastic foundation you can expect the cost to be $150 +/-. The same size assembled and painted kit from Mann Lake is $226, unpainted and assembled from Amazon is $233. And they are pine. You'll save $70 or more and have a hive made from Eucalyptus, ready to go, and will last you much longer.
